Why is it a scam?
-
The photo is stolen — it’s been shared in other places online, many times before, with the same story or a slightly changed one.
-
Scammers post these to make the story go viral — people share it because they feel bad and want to help.
-
Once it’s shared a lot, the scammer edits the post to add a link to a fake website, or they sell the page to someone else.
-
These pages might then be used to scam people, spread fake news, or collect personal details.
🚨 How to tell it’s fake:
-
It’s very emotional and makes you feel sorry or want to help.
-
The same photo and story pop up in different groups and places.
-
They never reply with real info when people offer to help.
-
It’s in a buy/sell group, not a lost and found page.
