Free introductory sessions to the three Rs of IT: recycling, refurbishment and repairs, at Limehurst Library on 19/08/2025. Tameside Community Computers (TCC) are running free information and training sessions on device recycling, refurbishment and repair at Limehurst Library on 19th August 2025, at 10am, 12pm or 2pm. (The same session will be repeated in each time slot.) Each session will cover: Refurbishment and Upgrades - replacing the hard drive; replacing the RAM; installing a new operating system. Disassembly and Recycling - stripping and recycling a laptop; separating metals, plastics, batteries, circuit boards. And more! This is an introduction to the subject and does not come with a qualification. TCC will provide all the required tools and equipment for this hands-on learning session. Ideal for: Students and school leavers interested in working with hardware or looking for something to add to their CVs People wanting more hands-on experience with IT Potential volunteers interested in helping to get unwanted devices into the hands of people who need them The training session is open to any age but under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult.
